Yesterday was so magical @pixiepixelized 🧚🏻♀️🏝 (click read more for a diary entry) We took a four hour long drive along the famous Road to Hana, a beautiful yet extremely curvy windy road through the mountains and shoreline of Maui. It was the loveliest road I've ever been on. Amazing views, endless one way bridges, and waterfalls at every bridge! After enjoying the drive, we finally arrived at our destination, the Pools of 'Ohe'o, around 3pm. The site has an epic 2 mile hike that takes you through a bamboo forest with a huge Banyan tree and a majestic waterfall at the end of it! We had to pay to get in and park, and there were signs all over saying that the park and the gates all close at 5pm and that if you're late you will be fined. We were cutting it close, as you should usually allot at least 2 hours for a 2 mile hike. Especially since we wanted to stop and take pictures and such. We heard of people getting locked in actually and not being able to leave, though we were skeptical whether or not that was true. We decided to accept the risk and go on with the hike. We ate some magic mushrooms and started the trip (literally, lol). On our way up, everyone else was on their way down (eek). It was unreal, I have footage of the entire hike that I will be posting later on my YouTube channel. The sounds of the tropical birds...The refreshing cold of the light rain...Tthe scent of the flowers...The light of the sun leaking through the trees and bamboo..The slight sting of my sunburn from the day before... When finally reached the waterfall, it was 5pm. We were the ONLY people there! It was then when we realized that being late maybe wasn't a terrible thing and maybe it was all in the divine plan after all. We walked right up to the 400ft fall in all of it's glory. This fall is a huge tourist attraction so usually there are tens of people there but with Covid and our timing, again, we were all alone. So... we stripped down naked! The mist from the waterfall kissed our naked bodies, I felt so free! We danced, kissed, and reveled in the beautiful sight. I have more photos and videos that I will be posting as time goes on, but here are just a few. On our way back we were the only ones on the trail, we had deep conversations about life and laughed as loud as we wanted to. The path was a little muddy and slippery from the rain and we almost tripped a few times but never actually did. It was then around 6pm and the sun started to set on our way out. When we got back to the parking lot, the only car left was ours. We were only in there for 3 hours but it felt like an entire lifetime had gone by. Luckily, the gate was still open! We were so relieved and exited without any problems or fines. I definitely do not recommend intentionally being late to a park/trailhead in order to get privacy. It was a total accident on our part, but it all worked out in the end~ One of my favorite practices is surrendering to the flow of life. Especially when I'm worried about deadlines and things of that nature. Breathe ~ Let it go ~ Trust ~ Should I do more diary entries like this? Let me know :)
