Over the past year, I noticed myself begin striving more for comfort than I ever had in the past. In the past, I tended to focus on adventure, fun, novelty, excitement. And what I’ve learned is: Comfort is not equivalent to happiness. I also feel that the more we strive for external comfort, the more it tends to elude us. Because it will simply never be enough. And why is that? Because the nature of this life is uncertainty. This isn’t me saying external comfort is unnecessary. It is, to an extent. Tend to the root chakra. But MORE and MORE comfort does not equate to MORE and MORE happiness, and I believe there are several psychological studies to back this up (money included). I’ve personally noticed the opposite effect within my lived experience over the past year, that the more comfortable I become the less fulfilled and happy I feel. Happiness and growth are on the other side of regular discomfort. I feel that the reason many adults stop growing is because this society is culturally conditioned to STRIVE for comfort as an indicator of success. And I know now personally the more comfortable we get with comfort, the more difficult it is to get back into the habit of growth. I’ve been struggling with this for the past year now. But I’m beginning to see it’s a lesson I’m needing to learn viscerally. “Settling down” is a stupid fucking concept. And comfort is mostly an internal yoga.

*Life updates!* I’m currently in Santiago with my man but heading South tomorrow to stay with his family some more l. On Friday I get my wisdom tooth removed and y’all I am normally okay about procedures but I am NERVOUS for this one. I’ve been avoiding it for a while but I know it’s time. I got a whitening treatment on my teeth today, and I got amazing news from my functional medicine doctor yesterday regarding issues I haven’t spoken much about here just because I haven’t felt called to. But yay! I also got good news from the codes department in Texas about my new investment properties short-term rental permit, which is exciting. I’ll be heading there in the Spring to decor it OUT which is my favorite part of the process! 🤤🏡 And what’s super precious is that my partner’s dad will be coming along with us to visit the states which is a dream of his, stay in the house, and help us all get it ready for guests together 🥹 My partner has family all over Chile so we’ve been traveling to different parts to stay w them, and I’ve felt so welcomed and loved. My Spanish is basic, so sometimes the language barrier can be challenging, but overall a beautiful way to practice and get out of my comfort zone. After I heal from my wisdom teeth procedure we will be traveling to one of the most beautiful regions in the world, but I will share that through photos with you all. And yes…there’s some more I want to share regarding lil’ updates, but I’ll wait on that too. All my love! 😊🙏🏼
